Diode lasers in everyday practice
Dental diode lasers were up until recently expensive and insufficiently explored piece of technology. Nowadays, huge improvements in science and technology made lasers more affordable and available so many dentists are stepping forward into the world of laser dentistry. Dental industry advertises lasers almost like an almighty piece of equipment used for a variety of treatments (endodontics, periodontics, soft tissue surgery, implantology, etc.). So where are the real limits? How can we benefit from diode lasers and what is new in the world of diode lasers? Which treatments can be improved with diode lasers and what to avoid? All this and more will be discussed in this 60 minutes lecture by dr. Katalinic.
Ivan Katalinic DMD, PhD, received his dental and post-graduate degree from the University of Zagreb, School of Dental Medicine. He was a student assistant at the Department of Endodontics and Restorative Dentistry, awarded with the Rector’s Award for the best scientific research. He has published several scientific papers in respected international journals, focusing on endodontics and diode lasers. Dr. Katalinic is a member of the European Society of Cosmetic Dentistry (ESCD), Croatian Endodontic Society (CES) and the International Alignment Science Academy (IAS Academy, London, UK). He is a visiting professor at the University of Sarajevo Faculty od Dental Medicine. In his clinical and educational work, he focuses on diode lasers, endodontics and minimally invasive, esthetic ortho-restorative treatments. Dr. Katalinic is Dentsply Sirona certified lecturer/mentor for diode lasers and endodontic systems. Also, he teaches the “ABB” ortho-restorative concept to general dentists (IAS Academy accredited).
